The lecture provides an overview on the courses of internationalisation theories, while focussing specifically on foreign market entry modes and timing of entry. It elaborates further on internationalisation strategies of European SMEs by mean of comparative analysis of German and Portuguese SMEs under consideration of the European SME support framework.
Professor Natalia Ribberink in addition to her professorship at the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences as Professor of Foreign Trade and International Management (AIM), she holds visiting professor positions at the University of Rhode Island (USA), California State University Long Beach (USA), and has a position of external faculty member at the Utrecht University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands). Before being appointed as a professor, Natalia Ribberink spent five years in the German aviation industry within a large airline alliance.
